It aims to bring into practice the precious teachings of the Buddha - moral upliftment, mental purity and humanitarian services.

Mahabodhi foundation Hyderabad is the latest affiliate of Maha Bodhi Society, Bangalore. It is an active, even thriving, organization with six resident monks and 27-trainee novices. The Vihara apart from providing spiritual guidance to the local Buddhists is engaged in spreading the Buddhasasana. The foundation has ambitious plans for developing the Vihara as an exemplary monastery and to build a self-contained retreat for meditation.
